MJ Owens is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Liability Insights Group, LLC, bringing more than 15 years of insurance claims knowledge and experience to the firm.

Her background spans auto liability claims, non-standard insurance, bodily injury settlements, attorney-represented claims, uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims, subrogation, and workers’ compensation. Throughout her career, MJ has developed extensive knowledge of the decisions that shape claim outcomes, including liability assessment, exposure evaluation, settlement strategy, documentation, negotiation, recovery opportunities, and claim resolution.

MJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business. Her combination of claims expertise and formal business education allows her to approach claims challenges from both an operational and strategic perspective.

At Liability Insights Group, MJ applies this experience to independent claim reviews, claims quality and performance assessments, liability analysis, and claims operations consulting. Her approach combines hands-on claims expertise, business insight, and objective analysis to help insurers, self-insured organizations, public entities, and other stakeholders strengthen decision-making, identify opportunities for improvement, and achieve better outcomes.
